Every summer, FRWD welcomes interns to help with anything from filing papers to presenting data analytics strategy to potential partners. This summer, FRWD had four college-aged interns in the office—two media interns, one creative intern, and one analytics intern.
We asked them to share what they accomplished this summer and here is what they wrote:
Emily Bathe, Creative Intern
It’s been a wild ride this summer at FRWD! I feel so lucky to have had the chance to work alongside such an insanely talented group of people. With such an impressive client list, I was intimidated by the agency at first, but FRWD instantly made me feel comfortable and at home. In under 4 months, I have learned so much more than I would have ever expected. My responsibilities centered around social media projects for clients, including deck building, research projects, content creation, digital copywriting, and community management.
As a “Creative Intern,” I was expecting to only learn about the creative side of the agency, but ended up working directly with almost everyone in the office at some point in time. I was even able to go to AdFed and MIMA events about subjects beyond my comprehension, like data-driven and technical practices. This sets FRWD apart from other agencies—your role is not limited to your title.
The FRWD team has helped me explore my interests in advertising and marketing, and has even inspired me to shoot for a career in social media management.

Thomas Bergen, Analytics Intern
Interning at FRWD has been a crazy and wonderful experience. As an analytics intern, I was tasked with the implementation of digital analytics software, competitive research for existing and new clients, and the analysis of datasets for social and digital campaigns. With a new challenge every day, I have been excited to come to work every morning, ready to do something awesome.
FRWD strikes the perfect balance between incredible client facing projects and training valuable skills. I was taught a slew of research and analytics tools and was encouraged to assist on a variety of different projects, ranging from search engine marketing, to analyzing creative strategy, to modeling consumer touchpoints across online and offline stores.
From parties to projects, my experience at FRWD has been incredible and pushed me farther than I could have expected in the short time I’ve been here.

Jimmy Gideon, Media Intern
I have spent the past two summers interning at FRWD, and it has been an eye-opening experience. I never knew that such a hardworking group of people can still have so much fun at work, while still getting their work done. For me, the moments when you hear a guitar from across the room, or are surprised by the sudden arrival of donuts, help me relax and realize that even when you are busy, you can have fun. Everyone at FRWD helps create a culture where ideas flow freely, through their welcoming spirit and friendly attitude. Being an intern, there were times when I needed direction on my tasks, and whoever I asked for clarity went above and beyond to not only help me understand what it was that I needed to accomplish, but also made me feel good about what I was doing. There has never been a day at FRWD where I’ve seen anything but smiles and laughter.
Jacob Stockwell, Media Intern
I can say with all the confidence in the world that working here at FRWD has been one hell of an awesome journey. Every day, I was excited about going to work. Every single person I worked with was so passionate about the work they do, and it’s so inspiring. I am very proud of the work that I created while I was there. There is a good blend between work and play at FRWD. For example I coordinated a company wide Mario Kart Tournament. I will never forget this experience, and I can’t think of anything else that can be better than working at FRWD.

We really enjoyed this year’s FRWD intern class! They contributed in many positive ways and will be missed. If you or someone you know is interested in interning at FRWD next summer, please reach out to us.
