Challenge

Tucked into the north shore of Wisconsin, just blocks from Lake Superior, Northland College has devoted their school to sustainability and environmental causes. This small liberal arts institution includes a rich history, stunning scenery, and a student body filled with driven students with stories to share. While filled with talent, this relatively unknown college needed help to increase their student enrollment numbers. That’s where FRWD came in.

Insight

Northland came to FRWD with a few goals: build up the college’s digital marketing presence, help train their teams on how to leverage paid social to connect with prospective students, and most importantly, increase admissions numbers.

Solution

After three years of working together with consistent enrollment increases, Northland has seen its number of freshman applications increase 103% leading to their largest incoming freshman class in over twenty years. Through audience targeting, a strong paid search effort, leveraging native content, and a series of social tests, Northland is once again growing and approaching record numbers.
